Russian WWII M35 Pilot Officer's Side Cap

This type of side cap called "M35" was Introduced by order of the People's Commissar of Defense of the USSR No. 176 of December 3, 1935.

Officer style, Red Army Air Force cap is made of dark blue wool. To the front of the cap is a star made of blue colored cloth, to the center of the star is a red enamel star with a sickle and a hammer to the center. The cap has full light blue colored piping made of wool to the top Crown and sides.

The lining is made of smooth brushed cotton and shows a clear manufacturers stamp which reads: ”Factory them. Samoilova, size 58, and 1940 for year of production”. Original sweat band still in Place. The sweat band is made of "ersatz" leather.

The cap shows signs of age and use with light to moderate storage dust all over.

Very nice war time example, hard to find!!
