Russia WWII Order of the Red Banner Awarded to Tank Soldier, Low Number With Research
 
On September 16, 1918, the first statute of the Order of the Red Banner was adopted. The Order of the Red Banner is one of the highest orders of the USSR. The first of all Soviet orders. It was established for rewarding for special courage, dedication and courage shown in the defense of the socialist Fatherland. The Order of the Red Banner also awarded military units, warships, state and public organizations. Until the establishment of the Order of Lenin in 1930, the Order of the Red Banner remained the highest order of the Soviet Union.
 
This order was awarded to Guard Lieutenant Colonel Kitaev Nikolay Ivanovich  who was born in 1906, nationality Russian. He served in the Red Army from 1931, Guard Lieutenant Colonel Deputy Commander of the 186th Tank Regiment of the 10th Panzer Division. Guard Lieutenant Colonel Kitaev Nikolay Ivanovich was also awarded with Order of the Red Star, Order of the Patriotic War 2'st class, Order of the Red Star, Partisan Medal 1st class, Medal For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945, Medal For the capture of Königsberg.
 
This is a Type 3, Variant 2. Orders of the second variant where made at KMD "Krasnokamsk Mint". The mint mark is located in one line. The word "MONETARY" has a pronounced curvature. For this type of award the minimum known order number is 84259, the maximum is 136812. The order is made of solid silver with a Deep red enamel work. The serial number and maker mark are located at the 6 o’clock position of its slightly convex reverse. The number is very low: "136673". Complete with war time original red and White ribbon which are mounted on a metal back plate with a safety pin to the reverse.
