Awarded to Lieutenant Vjarsi Kristof Mikhelevich, Order of the Red Star For excellent fire control of a mortar company. Born in 1914, Nationality: Estonian
Military rank: Lieutenan.
Deputy Commander of the 1st Mortar Company, 1st Battalion of the 27th Rifle Regiment, 7th Estonian Rifle Division


The Orderl is made of pure silver, 30g! with a Deep Red enamel work. The maker mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post. The serial number reads: 113582 Type 2 ( called "pjatka" probably the hardest war time wariant to find!), Variant 3. The minimum known number is 11400, the maximum is 254732.

 

This is what we find in the Russian military archives about this order:


"For the excellent fire control of a mortar company during the battalion’s fighting. Repeatedly suppressed enemy mortars with accurate fire, thus enabling the infantry to move forward. There times repulsed the counterattack of the enemy. On January 7, 1943 the enemy suffered great damage."
