Russia WWII Medal For Courage At The Oder Front Complete With Research  

 

Awarded to junior sergeant Sinev Nikolai Ivanovich with Medal For Courage On May 18th, 1945. Sinev was born in 1925 in Russia. And served in the Red Army from 09.1943 at the military rank: Junior Sergeant in the Heavy tank, 80th Guards Regiment.

 

Medal for Courage, Creation Date, October 17,  1938
The Medal for Courage was awarded for personal courage and valour displayed in defending the socialist motherland during the performance of military duties, for "acts of bravery during a battle, during the defence of the state borders or during military duties associated with risk to life"

 

The medal is in great. Most details are well visible. Made of solid silver and weighs 29 gram. The medal is in nice condition with all details present.

 

This is what we find in the Russian military archives about this medal:

 

"Order #022, On May 18, 1945
80th Guards Regiment of Heavy Tanks
Awarded the squad leader of the junior sergeant Sinev Nikolai Ivanovich - for the courage in the battle shown when guarding the tanks on the west coast of the Oder. When repelling the attack, 3 shooters from the Faustpatrons and 2 enemy soldiers were destroyed."
