Russia WWII Medal For the Capture of Königsberg
The medal “For the capture of Königsberg” is awarded to soldiers of the Red Army, Navy and NKVD troops - direct participants in the heroic assault and the capture of Königsberg from January 23 to April 10, 1945, as well as organizers and leaders of military operations during the capture of this city.
The medal was established by Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of June 9, 1945. About 760,000 people were awarded the medal the Capture of Königsberg.
This medal for the Capture of Königsberg (Type 2). The ear of the medal is fully stamped. This type was awarded after the Second World War in 1946-1948. persons who for some reason have not received the medal before. Medal is in very good condition made of gold plated brass with most of the gold colored wash still intact. The medal comes complete with original ribbon the pad is single-layer of the brass.
