Russian WWII Airforce Colonel's Field Tunic
This tunic was used by a Airforce colonel. The tunic modell is 1943.
The tunic is made of light weight olive green colored rayon/cloth blend. Five buttons for front closure with a stiff standing color with two hooks to the neck. To each shoulder is m43 type epaulette with Three larger stars to each made of metal and pinned in Place and one flight badge made of silver. The reverse of the epauletts is marked "1944" for year of manufacturing. Also size marked "3" for size 3. Two chest pockets with scaloped pocket flaps and one closure button. All buttons is painted with green combat paint.
To right breast side is clear ghost marks for two Awards and one garde badge. Above the marks is Three rayon stripes sewn to a cloth backing which is neatly hand stitched in Place. Each stripe denotes one lesser wound received in combat. Inside is stamped "3" for size 3. The tunic shows light signs of age and wear.
