Russia WWII Winter Hat With Earflaps

 

Winter hat with earflaps, introduced by order of the People's Commissar of Defense of the USSR No. 187 in July 5, 1940.

 

A hat with earflaps consists of a hole, cap, visor and earflaps which are tied to the top of the cap. Both ties still in Place but shortened / worned of. The cap is made of wool with cotton lining. The lining is nicely maker and year marked "Factory ......... 1940". To the front center is a Red Star pinned in place. The star shows intact enamel works. This type of caps normally has a fur cover, this one is however completely missing it. The cap shows clear signs of age and use.
