Russia WWII Order of the Red Banner, Low Number And Research
On September 16, 1918, the first statute of the Order of the Red Banner was adopted. The Order of the Red Banner is one of the highest orders of the USSR. The first of all Soviet orders. It was established for rewarding for special courage, dedication and courage shown in the defense of the socialist Fatherland. The Order of the Red Banner also awarded military units, warships, state and public organizations. Until the establishment of the Order of Lenin in 1930, the Order of the Red Banner remained the highest order of the Soviet Union. The decree of June 4, 1944 introduced the procedure for awarding the Order of the Red Banner for 20 years, and again for 30 years of impeccable service.
Orders of the fourth version were made at the MMD in 1944-1945. The reverse surface is smoothed. Creases and irregularities are practically absent. In the center of the reverse there is a rounded finger-shaped depression. The stigma is rounded in a hollow arc. The minimum known order number is 188493, the maximum is 273503.
This order is made of solid silver with a Deep red enamel work. The serial number and maker mark are located at the 6 o’clock position of its slightly convex reverse. The number is very low: "206443". Complete with war time original red and White ribbon which are mounted on a metal back plate with a safety pin to the reverse.
