Russian WWII Cavalry Officer´s M35 Visor Cap

Russian WWII Cavalry Officer´s M35 Visor Cap

This style of Russian WWII Visor Cap was introduced by order of the People's Commissar of Defense of the USSR No. 176 of December 3, 1935.

The cloth body is made of green/grey colored boiled wool with a blue colored cap band. The lining of the cap is made of grey colored drill cloth. Above the visor, to the shaped brass buttons fastened a black chin strap. On the upper edge of the band and the top there is a Black trimmed wool piping sewn in Place, denoting service in a Cavalry unit. To the center of the cap band is a red star made of ferrous metal with a Deep red enamel pinned in Place (this is the correct WWII Red Star which is attached in the correct way for the period).

Inside still has the original sweat band sewn in Place. The sweat band is made of "ersatz" leather. There is signs of a manufacturers stamp. The cap is in good used condition with clear signs of use all over. Inside has a greasy, oily feeling to it. No holes, rips or mendings.

Good rather large size which is about 57,5 - 58.

Scarce cap with a very nice appearance, this one has for sure seen some action!!
