The m43 type of shoulder boards (epaulettes) was introduced by Stalin with order nr. 25, January 25, 1943.

 

M-43 Epaulettes, correct "5" Point type. Made of pressed paper with a red cloth cover. The red cloth cover have three lines of golden/bullion tresse. Pinned to each board is a larger rank 2 star made of brass and the emblem of the artillery are attached with pins through the epaulet cypher denoting the rank of lieutenant colonel serving in an artillery unit. To the reverse is the tounge still in Place. The tounge is made of red cloth with a beige canvas reinforcement. The straps comes complete with brass Red Star ornamented officer buttons. Perfectly matching pair in size "2". Overall very good condition with minor signs of age and use.
