Awarded to Supply Sergeant-major Suhanov Alexandr Alexeevich with Order of the Red Star. Born in 1909. Nationality Russian. In Red Army from Mars 1942
Military rank Sergeant-major. Head of the Field Bread Factory of the 7th Artillery Division of the Breakthrough of the Reserve of the Supreme High Command.
The Order of the Red Star was given to Red Army and Navy personnel for exceptional service in the cause of the defence of the Soviet Union in both war and peace. Also awarded for 15 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
Type 3. Variant 2. Variety 2. Orders of the second variety were produced at the MMD(Moscow Mint) at the end of 1944. In the hallmark of the Mint, both words are straight, without bending. The stigma is small. The minimum known number is 791529, the maximum is 1243522.
The Orderl is made of pure silver weight is about 30g with a Deep Red enamel work. The maker mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post. The serial number reads: 890137.
This is what we find in the Russian military archives about this order:
"During the fighting on the Dniester bridgehead and while promoting on the territory of Romania, sergeant-major Sukhanov proved to be an energetic, proactive, conscientious employee. Personally, he completed a number of operational tasks related to the deployment of a field automobile bread factory of the division and providing it with material. The skillful and proactive work of Comrade Sukhanov made it possible to uninterruptedly provide shelves with bread, which contributed to the success of operations
For the skillful, fulfillment in good faith of a number of operational tasks related to providing regiments, a division with bread in conditions of battles and marches, sergeant-major Sukhanov deserves the government award of the Order of the Red Star.

Sergeant-major Sukhanov was also rewarded with medal for Military Merit, Medal For the capture of Budapest and Medal For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945"
