Combat Used Russian WWII NKVD M35/43 Gymnasterka With Wound Badge
Scarce Russian M35, which was war time modified to M43 style with visable chest pockets. A very common practice during the period. The tunic has 6 small red star brass buttons to the front and one of the same buttons to each chest pockets button down flap. Above the right breast pocket are Three stripes. Two sewn in golden bullion and one in Red rayon, all sewn to a rectangular canvas cloth which has been machine sewn to the tunic. The red stripe is for a lesser wound and the golden ones each denotes a severe combat which required Medical attention. To each shoulder is a shoulder strap slipped in Place and buttoned down with a zinc button. The shoulder straps are piped with wine-red cloth piping and a wine red cloth stripe is sewn across each board. Tounges and backing is made of canvas cloth. We are not sure if the shoulder straps are war time constructed.
The gymnasterka is in well worned condition with signs of age and use all over. There is several stains, a couple of minor rips and a couple of rather crude mendings. All in all a battle used example with tons of character!
Scarce combat used Gymnasterka which is very hard to find and even more so with the wound badge for Three different wounds!!
