Heer Infantry Unteroffizier's M42 Combat Tunic
 
Issue M42 tunic made of mid-war, darker field grey wool. M42 style with six button front closure, singel metal hook and eye for neck closure. Straight pocket bags and scalloped pocket flaps. The tunic has been period modified with added dark green color and Bright silver rank tresse sewn Close to the colar edge. All period applied when the Soldier was promoted to signify the new NCO rank. At the same time there was an NCO/Officer's breast eagle machine sewn above the right breast pocket. The eagle is made of machine wowen silver/bullion on dark green rayon backing. The eagle is machine sewn through the lining, with the same Heavy thread used for the rank litz to the collar. To the collar is also Heer general style of mid/late war collar tabs machine sewn in Place. To the shoulders are slip on shoulder straps with dark green wool center and silver rank tresse to all outer edges. Slip-on unit recognition slides to each strap with unit number "41" machine "chain stitch" embrodery to each. Both straps shows some moth bites especially to the dark green base cloth. To the left breast pocket is loops sewn for one Award. To the second button hole, from the top is a Iron Cross second class ribbon hand sewn.
 
The tunic is fully lined with silver/grey colored rayon lining. Belt hook adjustment straps all intact and two belt hooks still in Place. The lining is well marked with a clear "RBNr" as well as size stamps and year of manufacturing "43" for 1943.
 
The tunic is in very good condition with light signs of age and wear. No holes, rips or mendings. Insignias match perfectly to the tunic and is 100% war time applied. 
 
Completely untouched and rather scarce m42 combat tunic!!
