Tunic is made of feild-grey cloth with four pockets, two pleated breast pockets and two hidden hip pockets. All around the collar is a silver/aluiminium tresse machine sewn in place. There are also Heer "Einheitslitzen" machinesewn to collar. The shoulder straps piped in Golden Yellow rayon for Cavallry/Panzer recon, both has silver/aluminium tresse machinesewn to them but open at the bottom denoting rank of Uffz. Each shoulderboard also has a grey cloth slip-on with the regimental numbers "246" chainstitched to them also in golden threads for the same units.

On the right breast is a Bevo flatwire eagle which has been sewn on grey underlay with machine and then later by hand to the tunic. All original painted metal buttons in place, no one seems to be replaced. On the left chest is loops for three medals.

The jacket is fully lined in mouse-grey brushed cotton. There's a very faint stamp to the back/neck area that reads: "B.A.W 15, 6 40". The lining is in good, little used, condition.

Insignia match the wear of the tunic both inside and out. Clear signs of being little used all over. All in all a very nicely, little used, combat tunic.

What is interesting though is that this NCO got a Marine artillery tunic issued to him instead of a Heer, or maybe he liked hidden pockets more and got hold of one himself. The insignias is however 100% wartime applied in our opinion.

Very rare and desirable Coastal Artillery jacket in Heer configuration, not easy to find another one for sure!!
