SD-Oberscharführer's Old Style Combat Tunic From Oslo Military Museum Akershus
This tunic was traded together with 6 other tunics from the army museum Akerhus in Oslo, in the early 90's by a well known Swedish collector. The tunic was sold to a Another Swedish collector the same year and has been in his Collection untill now.
The tunic is made of field-grey cloth 6-button front closure with dual closure hooks positioned at the neck. The tunic has four scalloped front pockets, chest pockets with pleates all with button down flaps. To the right collar is a rare and desirable collar tab made of blank velvet which is machine sewn in Place. Left side of the collar has the same type of collar tab, this one with two rank-pips pinned in Place. The collar was war-time tailor reworked, it was originally worn with open collar. The collar has had a piece of cloth sewn and added closure hooks. All done for the Soldier to be able to Close the tunic.
Each shoulder has sew-in shoulder boards with light green cloth backing, black top with silver bullion with black "v" threads. One rank pip is pinned in Place to each board.
Left upper sleeve has a second pattern sleeve eagle neatly hand sewn in place. This type of sleeve eagle was used from 1940-1945. Further down the sleeve is a "SD" Sicherheitsdienst black cloth Diamond shaped armbadge hans sewn in Place. To the french cuff is a blank (SD style) cuff title also hand sewn in Place. To the left breast in two clear pin-head sized holes for an Award to be pinned in Place. Backside of the tunic has two belt retaining hooks. Inside is fully lined with grey colored Rayon.
The tunic shows clear signs of real use. Heavy napwear all over. Buttons shows similar use and all appear to be original to the tunic. There is one old mending located to the sleeve eagles right wing. The mending has been profesinally done, most likely war time.
