Heer Infantry Officers Visor Cap, Named and Unit Marked

Officers visor cap made of high quality doeskin cloth with White wool piping for service in Infantry branch of. Cap has at front a alloy non ferrous metal heer eagle pinned in place as well as a national cockard and separate wreath both made of non ferrous alloy metal with a silver wash finish. Buttoned in place with one pebbled silver washed button to each side is a officers Heavy aluminium/silver chincord.

Outside Cap shows virtually no signs of use. Light storage dust and  very lightchafe wear. Interior is made of golden yellow colored rayon. Celluloid sweat/dirt protection Diamond all intact. Leather sweat still in Place all intact with a couple of Cuts to the front, see pictures. Standard vulcanfiber visor with beige colored crossed ribbed inside. Inside, cap shows no real signs of use, just some age color fading. To the inside of the sweatband we find both unit stamps and a name / unit tag glued in Place. It reads: "Unterofficier Geemüller, II Infantry regiment 116". So the cap was manufactured, most likely pre-war judging from the overall quality and the unit stamps which we sometimes find on pre war caps but very seldom on war-time produced caps. The cap was later (war-time) upgraded to officer when Müller was promoted with added chincord buttons for provision of the heavy silver chincord.

Overall VERY good condition with minor signs of age and use. No moth holes or mendigns. The cap is a Little bit out of shape and the reason is the interior cap stiffener band which is made of black colored, flexible buckram material often find in crusher caps and very seldom find in a cap like this. The cap will stay in a good shape if displayed on a fitting foam head for a couple of Days.

The size is about 56.5 - 57.
