Heer Artillery Officers Visor Cap, Schellenberg

Artillery officer's visor made of fine, field grey doeskin cloth with Red wool piping. Piping denots service in Artillery branch. Non-ferrous alloy eagle and wreath/cocade pinned to the front center. And heavy Officers silver/aluminum chin cord attached with pebbled buttons with a silver finish.

Outside, cap is in good condition with a couple of moth bites to the Red piping. There is also a couple of minor moth bites and light tracking to the top crown. The cap shows light signs of age and use to all exposed parts.

Inside cap is lined in yellow/gold colored rayon cloth. Sweat/grease protective celleluid "Diamond" made of clear celleluid still in Place. Maker marked "Schellenberg".

Beige/Brown leather sweatband is all there and show matching wear to the rest of the cap. The sweatband is perforated with Classic "Schellenberg" pattern holes and is original to the cap. Size is approx 57-58.

The cap is a textbook mid-war Schellenberg, completely untouched. Signs of age with a couple of moth bites to the Red piping, minor tracking to the Crown. The interior cap band is a Little bit out of shape with clear "wrinkles" barely visable but when handling the cap, we clearly feel them. The shape is good, but the cap's pointed from tip is tilted alittle bit forward. All in all nothing major, the cap displays very well as it is. And with some time on a firm foam head the cap will most likely straighten up again,

Textbook Schellenberg manufactured visor cap in very good condition!!
