Waffen-SS Panzer EM/NCO's Overseas Cap
The cap is made of dense (the type of cloth used only in wrappers and real panzer headgears intended to serve as some protection against fire). Black wool/rayon blend construction M40 overseas cap with fold down side and back panels that slope gently downwards to the front center. The front center of the cap has a has a second pattern machine woven SS style eagle in silver/grey threads on a cut-out woven black rayon base. The front center of the fold down panels has a 1934 pattern, later war machine woven Totenkopf in silver/grey threads with black accents threads on a cut-out, woven, black rayon base. Both the eagle and the Totenkopf are neatly hand stitched to the cap. The cap has no branch of service soutache or any evidence of any ever having been applied. The interior of the cap is fully lined in black brushed rayon blend. The lining has a White ink stamp "57" for size marked 57.
The cap is in very good Little used condition with light signs of age, chafe wear and or use. The insignias match perfectly and is in our opinion original sewn to the cap. Light storage dirt to all exposed parts.
