Heer Panzer Officers Side Cap
Private purchase cap made of fine field grey wool. Fold down side and back panels. The top edge of the scalloped panels are piped in bright silver/aluminum braid. The front center of the cap has a machine embroidered Heer flatwire NCO/Officer's national eagle which has been neatly hand sewn in Place. Front center of the fold down panels has a very nice, higher quality Officer's national tri-color cockade also hand stitched in place. Pink colored soutache denoting service in a panzer unit is hand sewn in Place as well as inserted through two puncture holes (correct type of period application).
Inside is lined with grey colored brushed cotton cloth. Full length sweatband with perforated ventilation holes to the front, machine sewn in Place. There is two alloy metal cyphers pinned in Place to the sweatband. "F" and "K" the panzer officers first letter of his first and last name.
The cap is in very good, little used condition with light signs of storage wear and age. Size is about 56.5 - 57.
