Coastal Artillery Officer's Side Cap
Issue cap which has been period upgraded to an officer. Made of Field-grey with a hint of green (typicall coastal artillery) wool construction side cap with fold down side and back panels. The front center of the cap has a machine woven national eagle in golden yellow rayon threads mounted on a green rayon base. The front center of the fold down panels has a Officer's national tri-color cockade made of bullion. The fold down panels also has officer golden colored celleon braid machine sewn to the top edge. Both national eagle and officers cockade are neatly hand sewn to the cap. The interior of the cap is fully lined in mouse-grey drill cloth. There is a very faint with barely visable outlines of an manufacturer stamp to the liner. At the front forhead area is a partial Brown leather sweatband machine sewn in Place.
The cap is in good, still well used condition. Nap wear to all highlighted positions as well as color fading. Inside is rather Clean but still shows clear signs of use. Size is about 57.
