Waffen SS Panzer EM/NCO´s M43 cap.
Late war production black wool construction cap features fold down back and side panels with a scalloped front edge and forward sides and two black bakelite button retainers to the front center. The buttons appear to have their original stitching.
The front of the cap features the 1943 pattern, combined, machine embroidered SS eagle and Totenkopf insignia in silver/grey threads with black accent threads on a black rayon trapezoid base. The trapezoid base is machine stitched to the cap. The interior of the cap is fully lined in black herringbone twill weave material. The lining is marked with a white ink faint maker/year stamp 892/44 and size inkstamp, "57".
Cap show wear on both inside and outside, it has nap wear all over but mainly at the highlighted parts, trapezoid also show matching wear as are the inside lining.
