Heer Officers Side Cap
Private purchase cap made of fine field grey wool. Fold down side and back panels. The top edge of the scalloped panels are piped in bright silver/aluminum braid. The front center of the cap has a machine embroidered Heer flatwire NCO/Officer national eagle which has been neatly hand sewn in Place. Front center of the fold down panels has a Officer's national tri-color cockade also hand stitched in place. Puncture holes from a former branch of service soutache. The soutache end's is still in place when folding the cap panels down. This officer followed the regulations and removed his soutache. To each side of the cap is Heavy ventilation grommets crimped in Place.
Inside is lined with light green rayon. Partial swetband still intact. Lining has the officers initials handembroidered: "ST". Also size marked with size "57" in black ink.
The cap is in well used condition with a couple of moth bites. The liner shows clear signs of use with sweat stains and soiling.
