Luftwaffe Generals Side Cap
Highest quality, private purchase cap made of Luftwaffe blue/grey colored wool. The top edge of the scalloped panels are piped in golden Bullion. The front center of the cap has a hand embroidered Luftwaffe general's national eagle made of golden bullion with Bright golden highlights. The eagle has been neatly hand sewn in Place. Front center of the fold down panels has a very nice higher quality national tri-color cockade also hand stitched in place. The cockade has been padded for a more pronounced look.
Inside has a dashing red colored silk lining. To the front is a black (real) leather sweatband machine sewn in Place. The lining shows light signs of age and wear. For-head area has a minor tear to the lining which is about 1cm. The sweatband is stamped to the leather "GKW" either the leather manufacturer or this Luftwaffe generals initials? (interesting research Project).
Cap is in slightly used condition and show chafe wear all over but mainly at highlighted positions. It has no holes rips or tears though. Insignias are originally sewn to the cap.
