Waffen-SS M35 Helmet
Stamped sheet steel construction helmet retains about 90% of its field-grey paint. This is a period re-issued DD helmet. The right side of the helmet has an "SS" runic decal (Pocher). The decal is retained about 70%. Decal is untouched and original to the helmet. All three liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet has an age and usage darkened M31 tan liner fully intact with all eight fingers, tie string is replaced, most likely period since it match the helmet in wear and age fading. The liner shows wear, the leather is rather dry but no damage or mendings. Liner band is also original to the helmet and shows a nice dust build up we like to see when inspecting used old helmets. The interior neck guard has a stamped lot number "4237" and the left side apron is stamped with the faint, manufacturer’s code and size, "Q66" indicating manufacture by "F.W. Quist, G.m.b.H. Esslingen", size 66. The helmet comes complete with a perfectly matching leather chinstrap.
Hard to find any Waffen-SS M35 helmet, even more so an untouched combat vet like this one!!
