KRIM Campaign Shield awarded to a panzer soldier

The Crimean Campaign shield was instituted on July 25th 1942. The Award was awarded to all Wehrmacht personnel who had been engaged in combat, were wounded or served three months in the Crimean peninsula between September and July 1942. The color of the backing material was to match that of the uniform it was to be worn on.

Made of die stamped sheet metal with a bronze color wash. The shield is mounted on a shield shaped, black wool base with an alloy backing plate. All four attachment prongs intact and visable through the intact grey colored protecting backingpaper.

The shield is removed from a uniform with old sewing threads attached to the edges. The shield is in very good used condition. 99% of the high quality bronze finnish still intact. Hard to find a better example.

Super nice high quality shield in very good condition, this one also with black panzer backing!!!
