Luftwaffe Early Combined Pilot/Observer Badge, Assmann
Early produced combined Pilot/Observer badge made of Nickel-Silver. The gold finish to the wreath remains to about 65%. The silver finish to the eagle remains to about 80%. The eagle is tightly affixed to the wreath with two prongs.
Hinge pin and Catch all intact to the reverse. The Catch is repaired which is clearly visable to the reverse and to the front where the Catch is visable through the wreath. The repair is professionally done and has a nice age toning. A war time repair in our opinion. Early used example made of NS or Aluminium often has missing or broken catches/hinges. This one is repaired, however complete. The badge is maker marked to the reverse "A" for "Assmann, Lüdenscheid".
