Luftwaffe Paratrooper's Badge Engraved and Maker Marked A

The Paratrooper’s Badge was instituted by Hermann Göring on November 5th 1936 to Luftwaffe personnel who had written the required tests and completed six parachute jumps.

The badge is constructed of gilded and silver Tombak which indicates early war production. The obverse consisting of an laurel and oak leaf wreath, overlaid by a diving Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika. The reverse with a barrel hinge, pinback and a round wire catch. Dual visible rivets securing the obverse eagle in place. Reverse maker marked with the logo "A" for "F.W. Assmann & Söhne, LĂĽdenscheid". The reverse is hand engraved both to the wreath and eagle with the name "Ernst Ohm".

This high quality badge has been used and shows some paint loss to all exposed parts, especially to highlighted positions. Since the badge is made of Tombak does the paint loss dont distract the overall apperance. Edges shows minor dents from use and the pin is a little bit bent. All signs of extended time of use. All in all, the badge is in good used condition.

Probably the coolest paratrooper's badges we ever had for sale!!
