Iron Cross 1'st Class 1939 Maker Marked L/16
Iron Cross 1'st Class 1939 Three piece Construction Iron core, and silvered metal frames. Flat reverse with hinge, pin and catch all intact. To the reverse at the bottom cross arm is LDO manufacturers code marked (Leistungsgemeinschaft Deutscher Ordenhersteller) L/16 for "Steinhauer & LĂĽck, LĂĽdenscheid". The cross is in good condition and retains about 95% of the early type of dark-black paint finish to the Iron core. Bright silver finish intact to the edges. The cross shows a light and even age patina. The cross also shows some paint loss to the highlighted swastika and signs of real use to the reverse especially at the edges.
Early maker marked first class Iron Cross in good still used condition!!
