Iron Cross 2'Class 1939 Maker Marked 6

 

Iron Cross 1939, second Class. Three piece Construction with a magnetic Iron core. Black painted Iron core and silver polished edges. The black paint is virtually perfectly intact. The cross comes complete with suspension ring and a ribbed rayon ribbon. The suspension ring is maker marked "6" for "Fritz Zimmermann, Stuttgart".

 

The cross is in good condition with intact black paint. Silver frame shows a rather Heavy age patina. The Ribbon is of the earlier more orange colored compared to the more often encountered red ones. The ribbon match the cross perfectly in age, wear and color fading.

 

Early War produced cross with a very nice age patina!!
