The medal bars were intended for wear on the walking-out dress and formal uniforms, while the ribbon bars were intended for all other forms of dress. Strict regulations listed the required order in which ribbons awards were authorized to be worn on the ribbon bar.

 

Four place ribbon bar consists of an EK2 1914, War Merit Cross 1939, Hindenburg cross with swords and West Wall medal. The reverse is covered by field-grey cloth and is complete with pin back device.
