Coastal Artillery EM/NCO's Breast Eagle
Beginning in 1935 Kriegsmarine land based personnel primarily Coastal Artillery units were issued field-grey uniforms that followed the fundamental designs of the army uniforms with minor variations. The breast eagles for the field-grey uniforms was basically the same as the standard breast eagles but were worked on different colored backgrounds. The early produced breast eagles were on a dark blue/green base while later production models were on a field-grey base.
This is a early pattern machine embroidered national eagle in bright golden yellow threads on a cut-out dark green wool base. The badge retains its original black backing cloth. Close to mint condition, unissued exampel.
