Coastal Artillery Gefreiter's Rank Chevron
The Kriegsmarine adopted rank chevrons for all Enlisted ranks in 1933. The chevrons were worn on the upper left sleeve of most garments and the base color of the chevron was to match the uniform it was worn on.
The insignia consists of a single waffle patterned gilt wire chevron machine stitched on an inverted triangular green/grey wool base. Reverse well marked with manufacturers stamp. In well preserved, still used condition with age toning light wear and still visable cut-of sewing threads to the edges.
Used example in very good condition!!
