Pz.Abw.Abt.16 Massive Cast Iron Wall Plaque
 
Panzer Abw (jäger) Abt 16 partipicated in the "sudetenland" annectation: 1'st October 1938 under the command of V Army-Corps. This wall plaque is referencing to this. And has most likely been on display at the PZ ABW ABT 16 officer's mess hall.
 
Made of cast Iron with a weight of almost 1.4kg and meassures 20cm x 22.5cm. The center motif shows two lions holdin a city or unit Crest shield. The Crest is period hand painted and the paint has been covered with a lacquer finish to protect the paint. To the top of the plaque is the text in high relief "HERBSFAHRT". Beside the shield is "19" and to the other side "38" also in high relief. For "1938". To the botton of the shield is the text: PZ, ABW, ABT, 16. Which translates to Panzer Abwehr Abt 16. The artist initials is also found engraved below the shield "MK". The reverse is maker marked "Warstein-Heeag". To the reverse is also the original wall mounting metal device intact. Overall very good condition with minimal paint loss.
