German WWII Court Judges Robe

Tailor made german WWII era Court judges robe. The three quarter length robe is made of cotton/wool blend cloth with black silk to the lapels, cuffs and all around the neck. The robe is closed with five hidden black cloth covered buttons and to the neck is a hook with corresponding cloth loop which is hand sewn in Place. To the right upper chest is a silver bullion officer's style breast eagle on black cloth backing neatly hand sewn in Place.

Inside is partly lined with black rayon. A tailors label is sewn to the neck it reads: "F.W. Jul Assmann, Lüdenscheid".

The robe is in very good, used condition. There is a couple of minor wear holes to the neck area, the black silk shows light/moderate chafe wear to the edges. The breast eagle shows matching signs of age and use with some age toning to the silver/bullion. Outside has no rips, holes or mendings. We have attached a image showing the infamous "Roland Freisler" wearing a robe exactly like this one for comparison.

Rare and beautiful, first one we ever have had for sale!!
