Uniform grouping to German Cross in Silver Holder Major Hans Mayr.

 

 

Originally family purchased grouping to Hans Mayr who was awarded the german cross in silver: 1944-08-30 while serving in Kdr. Pz. Nachr. Abt. 446, holding the rank Obst-Lt.

 

The grouping consist of following items:

 

* Hans Mayr's "Geschönte" or ornamented field blouse. Five button front closure. Four pocket tunic with scalloped pocket flaps and pleats. Officer type collar tabs with lemon-yellow branch color, machine sewn in Place. Sew in shoulder boards with made of bright russian braid on Lemon yellow wool underlay, denoting the rank Major serving in a signal unit. Officers silver, bullion breast eagle, neatly hand sewn in Place. Loops for one Award to the left breast pocket above the left breast pocket is loops sewn for a 5 or 6 Place ribbon bar. To the right breast pocket is loops sewn for the German Cross in Silver. Inside is fully lined with green colored rayon and sleeves are lined with payama striped rayon. Tailors label machine sewn to the neck and dagger hanger still in Place. The lining has one slash pocket without pocket flips. Inside the pocket is a tailors label which also is named and dated. It reads: Scharnagi & Horr, Mannheim P 7 19. HERR: Hbtmn Mayr DATUM: 1-11-1939. The tunic is in very good condition with slight signs of real use, minor napwear to highlighted positions. The tunic is completely restored, buttons and shoulder boards camed with the tunic. Collar tabs and breast eagle is perfectly matching but added by us. All expertly restored. It's actually Close to impossible to tell the tunic has been restored, even when having it in hands.

 

* Heer Signal officer's visor cap, made of fine, field-grey doeskin clot. Bullion wreath/cockade and alloy non ferrous national eagle pinned in Place. Heavy officers chincord attached with one pebbled silver/metal button to each side. Yellow/gold colored rayon lining, sweat Diamond and Brown leather sweatband still in Place. The cap has been bend and has one crack to the inside cap band. We worked along time with the cap and it is now back in its original Beautiful shape. Eagle was missing, we restored it with a perfectly matching eagle which was pinned in Place through the old pin-holes from the previous eagle. The cap is now in very good condition with light signs of real use. Size is about 56.

 

* Tailor made officers, signals service trousers with lemon yellow piping to the outside seam. All buttons complete and original to the trousers. Name and tailors label machine sewn behind the inside rear pocketbag. it reads: KUHN & NUPNAU, Hbtm Hans Mayr 24/8/35. Very good condition with light signs of real wear.

 

Wide officers leather belt with doubble claw belt buckle. The buckle is made of zinc with a silver finish. The belt is very soft and pliable and is in very good condition. Length is 115cm.

 

Super interesting research Project. Super scarce, named German cross in silver receiptant who served in a panzer signals unit!!
