German WWII Close Combat Knife
The knife features a roughly 17cm long drop forged steel Construction blade. One side of the ricasso is well marked with a stamped "5" (manufacturers number). Double crossguard and carved natural softwood grips. The grip are secured to the blade tang by three small, dome headed, steel rivets. The knife comes complete with its original black painted sheet metal scabbard which retains about 95% of its original black paint. The scabbard has its small retaining rivet intact to the obverse and triple spring steel, retaining clips all intact.
The knife shows clear signs of age and use all over. The blade tip is broken. Handle has one crack and one chip.
Used exampel, this one has for sure seen some action, still highly collectible condition!!
