SA Dagger, J.P.Sauer & Sohn.

A nice early quality dagger features a roughly 22 cm long, double edged nickel/silver plated drop forged steel construction blade with a low central ridge. The nickel/silver plated blade shows scabbard runnermarks as well as pitting toit. The obverse of the blade has the nice deep well defined acid etched Sütterlin style script motto "Alles für Deutschland" which is crisp and well defined. The reverse of the blade shows the "J.P.Sauer & Sohn" logo. This is a pre RZM-piece, hence the lack of RZM-marking to the blade.

The dagger has the cast solid nickel/silver crossguard, pommel and tang nut which all show a nice even patina. The reverse of the crossguard is marked with "Fr". The dagger has a very nicely contoured walnut grip which has a very good fit to both the top and bottom fittings. The grip has a nicely inset solid, nickel/silver national eagle and a nickel/silver plated and enameled runic SA button both intact.

The dagger comes with its original brown anodized magnetic sheet metal scabbard with solid nickel/silver fittings. The scabbard retains much of its original anodized finish with spotting and rust to it as well as a small dent, the scabbard fittings have the same nice even light age patina as found on the crossguard, pommel and tang nut. Both of the scabbard fittings retain their original dome headed securing screws.
