Model 1933 Schutzstaffel Dienstdolch by F&A Helbig of Steinbach – SS Contract Code RZM 1163/38 (1938). Acid etched "Meine Ehre Heißt Treue" motto and "Gaefler F. & A. Helbig Steinbach Kr.M." maker mark are both poorly executed as is expected by Helbig. The blade is nicely seated up against the hilt and is in very good condition with minor runners. The fat crossguards are steel based and plated. A typical Helbig feature. The grip looks above average with minor chipping just above the SS roundel. The aluminum eagle is noticeably high up on the grip which is again typical of Helbig. The SS roundel retains 99%+ of its enamel and has a perfect fit.

The dagger comes with its original steel based black painted scabbard which looks decent and shows spidering and some paint loss, It continues to remain completely dent free and hold about 70% of its painted coverage. The steel based, plated scabbard fittings shows similar signs of age and use. All four scabbard screws remain intact. The dagger fits the scabbard but we need to use some force to slide it in place.

All in all, a nice exampel from this producer with signs of age and use.

Classic Helbig produced dagger which displayes very well!!
