Belgian Produced Canteen With German Cloth Body And Straps
The metal bottle is of Belgian production, most likely WW1 era. Leather straps and cloth body are very similar to the German WWII canteens used by Gebirgsjäger and Medics. As the Germans used a lot of captured Equipment and weapons its very likely this one was captured in Belgium and reissued by the Germans.
The canteen is complete with metal cup, cloth body with snap-buttons and leather straps with metal fittings. All shows matching signs of age and use. With a couple of wear/moth holes and one of the leather straps has a tear. See Pictures!
All in all a very interesting canteen in good still well used condition!!
