Japanese Infantry type bayonet and scabbard. Serial numbers and manufacturer’s stamps are evident to the head pommel with a button release. The lightly age-darkened, contoured wraparound wooden grips are fixed with two rivets. 40cm Bright metal blade with maker’s mark to the ricasso indicates that it was made by the Kokura hourglass arsenal. The first pattern sheet metal scabbard, with a ball tip and with a rounded strap band, retains most of its original bluing. Comes with nice original leather frog which also is maker marked.
