Japanese WWII Officer's Field Cap

Olive-Khaki colored wool Construction field cap. Used by the Japanese army until the end of the war.

Short visor made of the same material as the body with a yellow wool five-pointed embroidered with Heavy bullion threads, neatly hand sewn to the front. Small brass buttons embossed with a cherry Blossom to secure the original leather chinstrap. Two metal ventilation grommets are to each side of the cap. Two metal grommets are to either side of the vertical slash to the reverse of the cap and bound together by an adjustable tie string. The interior is lined in golden-yellow colored rayon. Original full length Brown leather sweatband still in Place.

The cap shows clear signs of age and use all over. Outside of the cap has no cuts, mendings or damage. Inside shows Heavy sweat stains and the lining has a 4cm cut. Sweatband shows some age/use cracking and the sweatband is torned to the reverse (see Pictures.

All in all, a cap which has been used for a longer time which still displays very well. The cap is also in a good size, which is hard to find when it comes to Japanese headgears. This one is about size 58.

Heavily used Japanese army officers field cap which still looks great!!
