Un-issued Large-sized Japanese Army Officer's Field Cap
An unworn typical army officer's wool cap with silk lining. This one has a standard wool army star patch machine-sewn on the front.
It looks like it has never been worn. The artificial leather chinstrap is
hardened and slightly warped, indicating the cap had been stored and untouched for many postwar years. The wool body is 100% free of
moth damage but the khaki woolen part of the star patch suffered from minor moth bites which are really unnoticeable at first sight. The metal grommets are intact and not rusted. There is a name tag sewn on the liner with a signature of its original owner "Toyoji Sonoda".
The size of the cap is worth mentioning. It's around 59cm
and quite huge for a wartime Japanese cap which is mostly found in small size.
Very rare to find in this condition and
in size. A cap of this caliber will never be found again in near future! Don't miss it!!
