Japanese Army EM/NCO Cap in Excellent Condition
Here we have a textbook late-war issue Army EM/NCO cap in slightly worn condition. 5 point Japanese yellow star is machine sewn to the front of the cap. Leather chinstrap is attached with pinned in place buttons located to the right and left side. Three ventilation holes are sewn with "button hole" machine to each side of the cap. The backside has three small sewn holes for attachment string to pass through. Original drawstring still in place.
The cap is complete, undamaged condition and in RARE "large" size.
Most Japanese hats come in SMALL and MEDIUM sizes but this LARGE size can fit any mannequin head. It has no quarter master stamps but a woolen cap without a lining was made from 1944. From 1945, shortage of leather materials led to the use of rubber for a chinstrap.
The chinstrap of this example is a leather one, so it was definitely made pre-1945.
Japanese large-size cap's is very, very scarce and desirable. This one is also in very good condition!!
