Named Japanese Army Major General Visor Cap

Named Japanese Army Major General Visor Cap

This cap came directly (through our picker in Japan) from the Army General's grandchildren's home.  The veteran's name is "Nobuo Imai" who became a Major General in 1930. He was born in
1900 and died in 1957. His sir name "Imai" is embroidered with golden-yellow cotton threads to the interior lining of the cap.

The hat is a standard officer's hat made of typical WW2 officer's olive drab wool and with black colored Rayon lining. The one-piece crown is piped in red wool to its edge. Two metal grommet ventilation holes under each side of the crown. IJA brass star affixed to the front of the center band. The cap has its original black patent finished chinstrap with dual adjustment sliders, fixed by alloy officer’s buttons with embossed chrysanthemums. Black patent finished visor also complete.

Like most existing Japanese army visor hats, there are some moth damage.  However, most moth bites are concentrated behind the chinstrap and not really visible fortunately.  This attractive
hat will display well on a mannequin head and it really looks awesome especially if it is paired
with the named Captain's tunic whose condition and material match those of the hat.

A provenanced and named Japanese Major General's hat is exceedingly rare, dont miss out on this one!!
