Japanese WWII National Flag Signed by Lover
WWII produced national flag made of linen cloth and meassures 74cm x 86cm. Probable due to the nature of the material the ink has faded rather much. Still we can read on the left side of the flag: "Loyalty and Love of Country" and "Loyalty and Bravely, Mr. Kawachi"ÂDAfter this message, there is a signature which reads: "Yoshiko" which is a womanÂfs name. There is no sir name. There is no emotion shown in these messages, so it is hard to tell the girlÂfs relationship to the soldier. She could be a lover, a classmate, or a sister but she canÂft be older than the soldier. There are a few small moth holes and the strings at the edge was removed.
Interesting flag in good condition, a flag mr Kawachi most likely did not want others to see!!
