WW2 Japanese Named Army Officer's Field Cap in Well-Worn Condition

A standard wartime officer’s wool field cap in nicely-worn condition. It’s in complete condition with a leather chinstrap and a front wool star but the interior of the cap shows some heavy wear. The leather sweatband is darkened and the silk lining is torn in places. Also about a centimeter long moth hole is on the lower edge of the right side body and another moth damage exists between the visor and the main body. Fortunately these damages are not too conspicuous and really distracting from the overall quality of originality. The original owner’s sir name is hand-stitched on the left side of the cap: “Takano”. Definitely worn by a seasoned veteran.

A really great piece of history with a nice “been there” look!!
