WW2 Japanese Named Army Officer's Canteen

WW2 Japanese Named Army Officer\'s Canteen

WW2 Japanese Named Army Officer's Canteen

A typical wartime officer’s canteen that was made up of an aluminum body in a wool cover and leather straps that are attached to it. Though there are superficial cracks on the leather and small moth damage on the outside bottom of the wool cover, it is complete and in good shape. The cap and the cork are removable without a problem. The leather strap is intact and its length is adjustable. The metal snaps buttons on the front of the cover are undamaged and still functional.

All original officer’s canteens existing today have some damage one way or another, so an officer’s canteen in this condition is really scarce. The original owner’s name “Sanada” is handwritten by black ink on the backside of the strap.

An officer’s canteen with signature is also quite scarce. Really a nice museum quality piece that can be displayed well in your Collection!!
