WW2 Japanese Named Army Officer’s Binoculars and Case in Good Used Condition

Here’s a pair of binoculars and its matching leather case used by an Japanese Army lieutenant. The set is complete and the original owner’s name “Lieutenant Yamauchi” is on the backside of the case strap.  This pair of binoculars are called “Monarch 8x25” which was produced from 1932 to 1945 by a maker Tokyo Kogaku or TOKO, one of the famous  manufacturers of optical instruments and weapons for Japanese Army. Though no reticle is seen inside the lenses which are mostly blurry, its military use is unquestionable by the presence of the original owner’s signature (Lieutenant Yamauch). There are many binoculars on market but one that is absolutely sure of its wartime origin is quite rare. All straps are present and the leather parts are undamaged. The black enamel coating on the zinc body of the binoculars has been partly peeled off but the markings and the logo are intact.

A very rare, attractive accoutrement for a historical display!!
