Japanese WWII Late War Produced Officer\'s M38 Visor Cap

Japanese WWII Late War Produced Officer's M38 Visor Cap

Olive drab wool body and crown. The one-piece crown is piped in red wool to its edge. Four-piece body with two metal grommet ventilation holes under each side of the crown. The imperial Japanese army brass star affixed to the front of the center band. The cap has its original black patent finished chinstrap with dual adjustment sliders, fixed by alloy officer’s buttons. Blackened leather visor. The sweatband is complete. Inside is lined with only normally seen inside stiffener. The leather type of visor, inside lining and un-ornamented buttons all indicates this cap was produced late in the war ca 1944-1945. Inside is also factory stamped. There is also Another stamp with no entrys. This was made for the owner of the cap to fill in himself.

The cap was never issued and has only storage wear and some moth bites and runners located to top Crown. There is also a couple of moth nips to the sides. Besides that in VERY good unissued condition.

Really cool late war produced cap in well preserved condition!!
