Japanese Infantry Leutnant Colonel's Full Dress Uniform Set
Imperial Japanese Infantry Leutnant Colonel's full dress tunic, trousers, sash and dress cap.
* M1894 type full dress frock coat, the black wool three-quarter length coat has a double-breasted front closure leading to a stand-up collar fastened by dual hooks and eyes. To each shoulder is a shoulder board slided in place with dual interwoven cords gilt wire with a decorative, golden-color alloy button to one end and a two gilt, five pointed stars to each that represent the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Award loops is sewn to the left chest area for a longer medal bar as well as a couple of additional medal's / badges. Original metal attachment slides are intact to a wool backing. The 45mm tall collar is faced in red wool, with sewn decorative, gold bullion ornaments. Each of the seven highly convex brass buttons to either side of the front closure have a cherry blossom embossed to their obverses (one missing!). Buttons all look to have original stitching. Cuffs are complete with their red wool faces and decorative gilt wire tress. The interior is fully lined in black silk with pyjama striped sleeves. The coat is in very good condition and shows only minor signs of age and service use.
* Fully matching Infantry full dress trousers. Private purchase, dark blue wool construction with red wool Infantry branch of service stripe. All complete and in good condition.
* Leutnant Colonel's Full Dress Cap, an officer’s black wool full dress cap, with a one-piece center band, and a black lacquered visor. The crown is ringed with golden tress, and has a five-pointed star, of gilt tress, sewn to its center. There are a five rows of horizontal tress for the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Affixed over these and the forward seam line of the body is a golden-colored alloy "sun". Chinstrap and buttons are complete. The interior is lined in black rayon, with original maker mark "Kawasaki". Sweatband is complete and in good condition. The cap comes complete with original white and red feather parade plume. The cap is in very good condition and shows only minor signs of age and use.
